The Team
Peter Arnold
Director, Investment & Strategy
Peter is responsible for investor relations, he also sits on the credit committee and brings extensive experience in funds management to the role.
With over 30 years in raising capital through his extensive investor network he has been involved in the purchase and repositioning of over 60 property assets.
Peter has been a Board member of a number of funds management businesses and in 1997 co-founded Austgrowth Property Syndicates.
Mike Cunningham
Credit Committee Member
Over the past 25 years, Mike has held various senior Board positions with a number of private organisations and ASX listed corporates.
In addition to this, Mike successfully completed a number of major capital (debt and equity) raisings for a NYSE listed corporate as well as structuring and managing quarterly shareholder programs across the US.
In 2001, Mike went on to establish International Acceptance Group (IAG) and raise capital from major lending institutions across Australia, United Kingdom, US and Europe successfully opening in those markets. He obtained credit licenses in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Italy employing some 150 staff across 2 continents.
During this time, Mike expanded IAG by providing broad product offerings within the retail and wholesale receivable marketplace. In January 2021, IAG was successfully acquired by the ASX listed group Resimac Limited (ASX:RMC).
Mike is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
James McNally
Compliance Officer
James has over 25 years’ experience in the funds management industry, having worked in both property trust administration and compliance roles for Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited and MIA Services Pty Limited, a company that specialises in compliance services to property, equity and infrastructure fund managers.
For the past 20 years, James has provided independent compliance and management services to many of Australia’s leading fund managers.
He is currently an external member on a number of compliance committees for various responsible entities that include property, mortgages. equities, infra-structure and specialist type assets.
James is also a responsible manager and/or director for a number of companies that hold an Australian Financial Services Licence including both listed and unlisted property funds.
Ray Horne
Business Support Officer
Ray’s role is to oversee Briars Trustee Services and corporate regulation.
He has previously held senior management positions in the public and private sectors in financial services, manufacturing, mining, professional services and the NFP sector.
In addition, Ray is also Company Secretary of a Not-For-Profit charity and responsible for governance and finance.
Prior to joining Briars, Ray held the position of Senior Manager – Compliance and Risk for an ASX listed company with regulatory oversight of its Trustee Licence from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), and two Australian Financial Services Licences.
Ray is Fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia [Governance Institute] and is CPA qualified.
Sarah Scicchitano
Manager – Loan Services
Sarah’s role is to assist the Directors in the everyday running of the company, including administration, marketing, HR and bookkeeping. She brings many years of Executive Assistant experience to the role.
Prior to joining Briars, Sarah held the position of Executive Assistant to the CEO and Owner of a major Self Storage Company.
Sarah holds a Diploma in Business Administration and has worked in a number of senior Managerial roles.
